President William Howell Upchurch Howell Upchurch is recognized as one of the nation's leading independent filmmakers and video producers. As a seasoned veteran of the entertainment and corporate communications industry. Howell's technical expertise and directoral talents have earned him national recognition as a producer, camera operator and director. He has produced and directed nationally acclaimed commercial film and video programs for over 20 years, establishing a solid national reputation for excellence while receiving numerous industry awards, including Telly Awards and International Film and Video Festival Silver Screen Awards. Howell's early experience in multimedia presentations quickly led to a demand for his distinctive creative touch on productions for Atlanta's leading advertising agencies and corporations. Howell's project management skill secured him a position as production manager and then as operations manager of WATL Channel 36, an Atlanta independent television station. In February of 1985, Howell Upchurch started Visual Arts of America, Inc. As President of Visual Arts, Howell has applied his talents to a series of national television specials, music videos, television commercials and corporate communications pieces for such leading companies as IBM, Coca-Cola, MCI, Valu-Jet, Houston's Restaurants, Oki Telecom, Ford Motor Company, and the Marriott Corporation.
